TAYLOR TAKES ROUTE 66 IN SCORING BACK-TO-BACK WIN AT PENNANT
PARK - RESULT
IT
TOOK 66 hits at Pennant Park, Holywell, for Barry Taylor (Houghwood) to
gain his second Tamsel success. His
swing tempo orchestrated a flawless four-under-par performance, playing to
the card for an outward 35 and chalking up four birdies for an inward 31,
with no dropped shots, giving Barry a great round which carried him three
shots clear of his nearest rivals to gain him back-to-back victories
following his win at Leasowe four weeks earlier.
James
Whatley from Morley Hayes and Bridgnorth’s David James tied for second spot
on 69 with Richard Henaughan (The Chase) in clear fourth on 70 ahead of
Mike Tayor (Bliss Supplies), Craig Simmons (Patshull Park), Stuart Hemmings
(Penn) and David Wilcock (Dean Wood) who shared fifth on 71.
Adam
Delves (Gem Retail Ltd) took the leading amateur medal with a commendable
72.
Taylor’s
win moved him to the top of the Tour’s Order of Merit
ahead of Dale Marmion (Eaton), Chris Hanson (Crosland Heath), Paul
Wesselingh (Keddleston Park) and David Wilcock.
