1. MEMBERSHIP:

 

Membership Fee - £120.

Tour membership is open to all Professional golfers and only members of the tour are eligible to participate in Tamsel tournaments. The Tamsel Tour will publish the Membership fee and joining dates annually. It is at the tour’s discretion to offer a temporary membership for players per event. Amateur golfers of handicap 5.0 or less are eligible to play in the Tours tournaments but are not required to join the Tour.

Membership fees are non-refundable.

The Tamsel Tour has the right to refuse any membership application.

 

2. ENTRY TO TOURNAMENTS AND WITHDRAWAL PROCEDURE:

 

Participation costs - £165 for a 36 hole event and £85 for an 18 hole event.

Entry to tournaments is on a ‘first come first served’ basis. Entry forms by post with cheque for appropriate amount. Fees must be paid in full before playing a tournament. Entries made by telephone, fax and e-mail will be deemed as confirmed.

Entry fees can be made by cheque (sent to: 23 Marlston Avenue, Chester, CH4 8HE). or by Credit/Debit card by

‘phone or standing instruction.

Temporary Membership is available at an additional cost of £70.00 per 36-hole event and £35.00 per 18-hole event

Amateur participation costs - £65 for a 36 hole event and £35 for an 18 hole event.

Amateurs are required to play off scratch.

Returned cheques will result in a £25 administration charge and restrictions enforced on a player’s membership.

Withdrawal

Any player withdrawing from an event without 48 hours notice may be subject to a £25 fine.

Any player withdrawing from an event within 24 hours of the start may be subject to loss of entry fee.

Any player failing to attend a tournament may be subject to a loss of entry fee and a £25 fine.

The Tamsel Tour has the right to waive such fines if the Tour’s directors deem circumstances exceptional.

No withdrawal fines will apply if a player withdraws from a tournament due to playing in a Challenge or European Tour event.

3. TOURNAMENT FORMAT

All tournaments will be played over 18 or 36 holes of stroke play. There will be no cut and all tournaments will be played in accordance with the Rules of Golf as issued by the R&A, any local rules published on the day and Tamsel Tour rules and conditions.

In the event of a tie the winner will be decided by sudden-death play-off. In the event of more than two contesting a play-off the losers will be deemed to have tied for second place.

4. PROFESSIONAL PRIZE FUND

Prize fund breakdowns will be available at each tournament and will be determined by the number of entries into the tournament and any additional prize money gained from sponsorship.

Payments will be made to 20% of the field. There will be NO levy imposed on any tournament winnings.

 

5. ORDER OF MERIT

 

The Order of Merit will be calculated on a points basis.

Order of Merit points will be awarded to the leading 30 finishing positions for each tournament in accordance with the following table.

6.TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP AND TOUR SCHOOL

The highest finisher in the Tour Championship will qualify for paid entry into the PGA European Tour School providing the player has met the required qualification of having played in at least two tournaments prior to the Tour Championship. In the event of a tie in finishing position preference will be given to the player ranked highest in the Order of Merit.
The Tour School place is solely applicable to the designated member and is not transferable.
It is a condition of Tour School entry that the player designates the Tamsel Tour as his attachment.

7. PLAYER CONDUCT

Any player guilty of inappropriate and unprofessional behaviour will have to face disciplinary action from the Tour. This may result in fines and/or suspension.

8. DRESS CODE

Players must wear appropriate golf attire. Jeans and trainers must not be worn during the playing of a Tamsel Tour tournament. All players must adhere to the dress code of the host venue. It is the sole responsibility of players to ensure these dress codes are enforced to their caddies and guests.

9. MOBILE PHONES

The use of mobile phones is prohibited during tournament play and the mobile phone policy of the host venue must be adhered to.

10. TOURNAMENT RULES

The full version of the following tournament rules can be found in the R&A Rules of Golf.

1.       The Ball

a-       List of conforming golf balls (Rule 5-1)

b-       One ball condition (App 1 Part C)

Exception to rule: Amateurs playing in Pro-Ams

 

2.       Time of Starting

     Rule 6-3a

     Local Rule: If a player fails to arrive for his allotted tee time he will incur a 2 shot penalty.                   The player may continue to participate in the event under this penalty only if a place is available during later tee times.

 

3.       Suspension of Play (Rule 6-8b)

    When available the tour shall use the following signals:

    IMMEDIATE SUSPENSION of play for dangerous situations (Lightning): One prolonged note of siren.

    SUSPENSION of play for non-dangerous situations (rain, wind): 3 prolonged notes of siren, repeated.

    RESUME PLAY: 2 notes of siren.

If a tournament can not be completed in full due to adverse weather conditions the tournament result will be decided over the number of holes completed by the final grouping:

36 hole tournament: 18 holes minimum

18 hole tournament: 12 holes minimum

 

4.       Driving clubs

The driver the player carries must be named on the current list of conforming driver heads as listed by the R&A Rules Ltd.   Breech of rule: Disqualification.

 

5.       Tamsel Tour Standard Local Rules

a-       Out of Bounds (Rule 27) Beyond any wall, fence, hedge or line of white stakes defining the boundary of the course, unless stated otherwise by the Tour at the Tournament venue.

b-       Water Hazards (Rule 26)

c-        Ground under repair (Rule 25-1) All areas defined by the host green keeper.

d-       Embedded ball (Rule 25-2) Rule extended to ‘through the green’

e-       Stones in bunkers : Deemed as movable obstructions.

 

The Tour has the right by publication to amend any and all of the above conditions.  TT2008.
